PRICING INFO

Pricing average information

  • All our quotes are prepared on a case-by-case basis, taking into account important factors such as delivery deadlines, material quantity, technical or artistic complexity, and other preferences. However, our pricing is calculated fairly through a tangible method that considers an approximate estimate of studio hours required to complete a specific service.

  • As mentioned earlier, our quotes are based on an estimate of the studio hours necessary to fulfill various requirements. The base rate for our studio time, which serves as the foundation for all calculations, is $60.00 per hour.

This rate also represents the minimum charge for any service. However, sequential projects, such as noise reduction editing for 30 pieces of 30-second audio, may receive significant discounts, which can reach up to 30%.

  • For illustrative purposes only, since quotes are tailored to each project’s unique configurations and preferences, one minute of sound design typically requires between two and four studio hours. This allows us to estimate the average cost of sound design between $120.00 and $240.00 per minute.

  • For illustrative purposes only, as quotes are tailored to specific configurations and project preferences, the cost of composing and creating an original soundtrack can be illustrated by considering our controlled production workflow. This involves creations made with synthesized or realistic-sounding virtual instruments. Based on this approach, we estimate the cost of original music creation starting at $360.00 per minute.

For sequential work, such as creating a three-minute original track, discounts may reduce the cost to approximately $480.00.

  • Creating an original soundtrack can involve various additional costs, especially when organic instruments and vocals are required. In such cases, custom quotes will include fees for the musicians and additional professionals involved in the production and recording process, as well as potential costs for supplementary recording facilities. These expenses can vary significantly based on location, complexity, and other specific factors.

Given these variables, it is impossible to estimate the additional costs for more complex productions. However, our sequential workflow approach may lead to significant overall discounts.

  • For editing stock music available for purchase and licensing from specialized libraries such as Shutterstock, Pond5, and Audio Jungle, the cost estimate is generally precise due to the limited editing possibilities. Typically, this involves selecting segments and isolating elements using noise treatment technologies. The cost for this service is approximately $120.00 per minute of linear editing.

If creative adaptations, additional instruments, or layers are required, extra fees will be incorporated into the quote.

  • As a common alternative for soundtracks used in advertising campaigns, we also offer licensing and adaptation services for original recordings from artistic sources. However, it is not possible to estimate these costs, as licensing fees vary depending on the artist's success, legal arrangements with publishers, representatives, or labels, as well as the content, media, and reach of the material featuring the original or adapted track.

  • We can assist in selecting music from specialized platforms such as Pond5, Shutterstock, Audio Jungle, Artlist, and others. For selecting and suggesting collections of royalty-free tracks, we charge a fee of $10.00 per song. For example, if the project requires 10 royalty-free tracks, the service cost would be $100.00.

It is important to note that this fee does not include the cost of licensing the royalty-free music, which must be paid by the client. Licensing costs will be provided in a custom quote, as they vary based on platform, publication duration, market reach, and media.

  • Noise reduction services, including distortion remodeling, ambient noise removal, and natural reverberation elimination, follow the same principle for pricing. The minimum charge for any service is $60.00, equivalent to one hour of studio editing. However, for noise and spectrum improvement services, an additional fee of $10.00 per minute is applied for each treatment used.

For example, treating 10 minutes of linear audio requiring three primary noise treatments would exceed the $60.00 minimum charge, resulting in a base cost of $30.00 per minute. Sequential workflows may be eligible for significant discounts.

  • All technical services have a minimum charge of $60.00, equivalent to one hour of studio editing. However, dialogue synchronization between multiple audio channels, such as boom and lavalier microphones, is considered highly specialized and complex. Typically, this service requires three to four studio hours, with costs ranging from $180.00 to $240.00.

Additional noise treatments may be necessary to achieve effective quality improvement, as issues such as phase cancellation—a primary characteristic of unsynchronized audio—can obscure other aspects of the audio, both positive and problematic. Sequential workflows may also qualify for discounts.

  • This service is highly complex and generally applied to extensive timelines, such as those in cinematic or audiovisual projects. It involves managing individual files for SFX, soundtracks, music, dialogue, and narration, potentially including additional groups like background music, sound design, and dubbing.

This process must often be repeated across various formats, such as Dolby Atmos, Surround 7.1, Surround 5.1, Stereo, Ambisonics, Binaural, Pro Logic Phase 90, and others. Estimating costs per minute for such projects is impractical for long-duration works like films, series, and games.

For this service, the base calculation starts at $120.00 per episode or film featuring the basic groups (Dialogue, SFX, Music, Narration) in formats such as Dolby Atmos, Surround 7.1, Surround 5.1, and Stereo. Additional features, such as FFOA (First Frame on Action) insertion or multiple audio groups (e.g., dubbing), will incur a $10.00 fee per feature.

  • Understanding that our commercial operations are international, we primarily use the PayPal platform for all payments. Invoices will be issued by our financial department and sent to the contact provided by our client. Exceptionally, for clients located in Brazil, Pix is the preferred payment option. Please contact us for more information or to negotiate using other payment platforms of your choice.

  • In general, for delivery timelines under one month, our payment conditions require 50% of the total amount upfront and the remainder upon delivery of the final material. For projects with a timeline exceeding thirty days, our payment preferences involve recurring installments of equal value, including an initial upfront payment, intermediate payments at 30-day intervals, and a final payment upon the delivery date of the completed project. For example, for a project extending over three months (90 days), the first payment is due on Day 1, the second on Day 30, the third on Day 60, and the final on Day 90, with each installment representing 25% of the total value.

For installment payments, a simple contractual agreement will be established between 44 Sound Design Studios – legally represented by 44 Tracks Studios, headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil – and the client, whether an individual or a company, located anywhere in the world.

For all quotes provided until the end of March 2025, a 10% discount will be applied to the base calculation of all our services.

  • Delivery timelines are one of the main factors considered when preparing our quotes. Therefore, our timelines are adjusted on a case-by-case basis and are integral to the quotes we provide.

To ensure our deliveries meet client expectations, we understand that adjustments may be necessary during the execution and delivery process. As such, we offer up to two free recalls for all our services. These recalls must be requested in grouped form; for instance, if your project involves five of our services, you can request changes twice for all services collectively, rather than two changes for each service, which would total ten change requests.

For sequential content, such as series, games, or long-duration projects like documentaries and films, the two-free-recall limitation may be configured differently, allowing for a higher number of recalls. Moreover, we always operate on the assumption, based on our professional experience, that additional adjustments may be required due to processes like noise treatment, where issues might surface after enhancement treatments. However, case-specific free recall policies will be detailed in the quote we provide, represented as a percentage margin for error.

Please understand that recall limitations are necessary to maintain focus on the practical application of solutions and adjustments, preventing projects from becoming mired in an endless editing cycle that could result in various setbacks for all parties.

In general, if additional recalls are needed, a fee of 50% will be charged for the first additional recall and 25% for subsequent revision requests. After one year from the delivery date, a revision request will be charged at 65% of the original value, adjusted for inflation.
